Quality Assurance

Quality is the backbone of all our operations, and accordingly, we conform with the Egyptian standards and specifications throughout the production stages, from raw material procurement (billet steel) all the way to the final product (rebar bars).
For operational quality sustainability, we have qualified staff comprising efficient engineers, chemists and technicians in the Group’s factories.
We also have in house the latest laboratories for quality testing that is equipped with modern measuring equipment, including the devices required for measuring and examining samples, to ensure more precise compliance with Egyptian specifications.

Quality Control Stages in our Factories

Purpose: We establish quality control stages, inspection standards and violations for raw materials, whether imported, interim, or final, with the aim of creating a final product that conforms to the Egyptian specifications 2-262/2021 and other standard specifications, meets customer requests, and conforms to the company policy. Scope of Application:

All sizes of serrated bars.
All production stages, starting with receiving the billet until manufacturing the final product.

Responsibility:

The Quality Control Department is responsible for issuing the quality plan in coordination with the Production Department.
The Quality Assurance Department is responsible for reviewing the plan before implementing it.
The Quality Control Department is responsible for inspecting the raw materials and the final product.
The Production Control Department is responsible for interim inspection after shears.
The Quality Assurance Department is responsible for verifying the implementation of the quality plan.

Steps for analyzing rebar diameters

Mechanical Tests

1- Iron samples are randomly selected to conduct yield and tensile tests.
2- The weights and the weight of the linear meters are verified.
3- The bending and tensile tests are verified.

Chemical Tests

1- An analysis of the chemical properties is performed and the proportions of elements are identified for each sample.
2- A quantitative analysis of selected samples is conducted.
3- The results are then reviewed and their compliance is verified against the specifications.

Evaluation and review

1- The test and analysis results are recorded periodically.
2- The results are presented to the Quality Control team and take any corrective measures required in the production processes.

Steps for inspecting raw billets.

Identification of the mechanical and chemical specifications

1- The required specifications for the billets are established to ensure the quality of the final product of the rebar in terms of chemical and mechanical specifications and technical conditions according to the applicable specifications.
2- The Logistics Department sends a notification of arrival, stating the date of arrival, the quantities received, as well as the type and specifications of the steel required.

Raw Billet Inspection

1- Inspection of the billet for any surface defects, peels, cracks, or dents.
2- Samples are taken periodically to undergo chemical testing to verify the chemical analysis of the samples.
3- The results of the inspecting and testing are recorded.

Chemical Analysis

1- Chemical analysis through a spectroscopic analysis device.
2- In the event of an acceptable deviation consistent with the characteristics of the standard or the apparent properties, it is approved subject to the results of the chemical and mechanical analysis within the limits of the specification.
3- In the event of an unacceptable deviation (outside the specification limits), the supplied quantity will be scrapped (scrap metal).

Evaluation and review

1- The sample test results (chemical and mechanical) are reviewed in compliance with the required specifications.
2-If the billet is approved and accepted, it is then coded and stored.
3- The billet ranks, origin, and shear sizes are separated and identified.

Steps to deliver the final product - Al Maadi Steel (ALMS)

Certificates of the Factory’s Central Laboratories

1- Analysis certificates for each order are attached.
2- Ensure that the results of analyzes and tests are delivered to each client.

Verify the shipment information and the final product card

1- Shipment data is verified according to each customer’s supply orders.
2- Ensure that the product card is placed showing the detailed information of the order (weight - size - steel grades)

Follow-up and delivery to the customer

1- The order is followed up until handed over in the site.
2- Follow up on any customer complaints and register them in the customer service system

Steps to deliver the final product

We fully realize the importance of the time factor and its impact on cost and operation processes in urban sites, so the logistics department at Maadi Steel is committed to the following:

1- Verifying that the final product ALMS conforms to specifications using the latest measuring and calibration devices.

2- Reviewing the color coding of each diameter to facilitate the customer in identifying the sizes at a glance.

3- Verifying the weights and quantities of each order based on operating orders.

4- Attaching the identification card for the final product and for each order (ALMS Label)

5- Loading is done through Maadi Steel’s transportation fleet, while adhering to the speed of delivery to the site according to the date specified in the supply order.

Measuring and Analytical Instruments

The latest measuring and analysis devices are used in the laboratories of Maadi Steel Group.

Certificate of Analysis by the Egyptian Organization for Standards & Quality for reinforcing steel products.
A certificate of analysis of the measurement parameters of the factories and each client, which is carried out in conformity with the Egyptian standards for the manufacture of rebar.
Certificate of registration and accreditation by the Central Agency for Reconstruction and Housing of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities 2021.
Certificate of registration and accreditation by the General Authority for Educational Buildings in the Arab Republic of Egypt 2022 according to the 262-2/2022ES specification.
